Let's Pretend it's January 2012

We finally got the first real snow of the Winter season in the beginning of January. We dressed Riker up in his snowsuit and took him out for a few minutes to see the snow and take pictures.

Made a little snow angel, but he clearly didn't like it
We got seven inches at our house!

Let's Pretend it's 2011: The Finale - Baby's first Holidays

Halloween:
We attended the Ward Trunk or Treat. We love our little pumpkin!

We only went trick or treating for about fifteen minutes on Halloween because it was cold and rainy.

Celebrating the month of October in fun hats made I made him. I think he looks adorable sporting a beanie.

Thanksgiving:

 Christmas:

As you can see, the most exiting part of Christmas for Riker was the playmat with the piano and his little firefly.

Let's Pretend it's October 9, 2011 -Riker's Blessing Day

Riker was blessed on Sunday October 9, 2011. For those who aren't LDS, this is when a child is given their name to be known on the church records and receive a Father's blessing to help them throughout life

All ready to go fro his blessing in the tuxedo Grammie (Nicholes) bought and the blanket                  she crocheted.

Riker's blessing circle: (left to right) K.C. Dickey, Grampy (Bowden), Papa (Nicholes), Daddy, Ken Corbett, Uncle Abe, and Jayson Hamilton
Luckily Riker was quiet and content during the blessing and slept through the pictures
                                                                  Three Generations
                                                            Riker, Papa and Grammie

Aaron's biological mother Barb came down from Columbus with her husband Leslie and Daughters Breanna and Marissa. This little boy of mine has A LOT of people who love him. :)

After church we went to Andrea's for a family dinner; my Dad cooked and my mom made dessert. We took even more pictures!
                                                                  Nana and Grampy
Riker and cousins Westley, Cami and Hayley
                                                             Riker with Aunt Andrea

He has me wrapped around his finger

Let's Pretend it's September 16, 2011

We got Riker's newborn/2 weeks old pictures today! We went to Kiddie Candid's at the Toys R Us in Cranberry, PA (update: they closed Kiddie Candid's around the time he turned 9 months old; I still miss going there for pictures)

(Riker would not close his mouth or keep his arm by his face no matter how hard the photographer tried. Yep this picture definitely foreshadowed how stubborn he would be/is)

I love how they turned out and I can't believe how much he's changed.

Meet the Bowdens

I decided to start blogging again since I have an abundance of free time as a new stay-at-home-mom. My old blog was deleted so here is the new one..Welcome!

A little bit about us....

We were married in Gilbert, AZ in the Mesa AZ Temple for time and all eternity on June 25, 2009.
                                  (A most triumphant day indeed!)

I graduated from BYU with a Bachelor's Degree in Communication Disorders (basically pre- speech pathology and audiology) in April 2010.

In July 2010 we moved to Ohio. Just like the Bon Jovi song, we were "livin' on a prayer" as we packed up whatever we could fit into two cars and left Utah, without a job between us. It was a year full of learning experiences and I have grown spiritually and intellectually.

In December 2010, about a week before Christmas, we learned we were expecting our first child! In April 2011 we learned we would be having a boy! On August 22, 2011 at 3:21 pm Riker Morris Bowden was born via C-Section (after three failed inductions)!

(Fire engine red hair and a temper to match!)

Fast forward to today, January 8, 2015...Riker is 3.5 years old and lots of fun. He is very social and loves playing and going to preschool. We will Be married six years this June and will have liver here for five years on July 7, 2015. Time flies and I hope to catch you up and keep you all up to date.
